Most parents want to get their kids involved in an activity that can help them develop confidence and skill. When you feel that your child might have an interest in learning the violin or if you want to find out if they have an interest in it, you can do so easily. You don’t even have to hire a private instructor. There are DVD programs that you can start using to teach your child the violin yourself. You will obviously need to purchase a violin that fits your child first though.
Did you know that some kids start learning to play the violin at the age of three? This is where the DVD program might be helpful. If you are just trying to see if your child might be the next greatest violinist of his/her time, start simple. You will see if this is something they take to or if it is something they have no interest in. If they take to it, you can look for a private instructor later on. If they don’t take to it, you have not wasted a ton of money on private lessons.
We have all seen those young kids who are at the top of their game at the age of seven. How did they get there? They weren’t born with the knowledge of how to play the violin. They had to start somewhere. They obviously started with beginning violin lessons and moved on from there. If you are interested in starting your child with beginning violin lessons, start with a DVD program. You will have to be very involved with the lessons yourself, but you would have to be involved if you had a private instructor also. At least this will give you an idea of whether it is worth pursuing further development in this area.
