There can be little doubt that if you want to learn to play an instrument you must first get through the beginner stage. Every aspirant musician wants to learn to play their instrument of choice as quickly as possible. If you want to learn to play the violin then you must learn all the violin basics first. Don’t be tempted to rush through this stage. It is extremely important for you to build your musical future on a solid foundation. If you do not thoroughly understand the basics and know how to implement them you will struggle later on. It is far better to have an attitude of determination when learning to play the violin.
There are beginners who believe if they choose the electronic violin it is going to be easier and quicker to learn to play. This is completely false and you need exactly the same foundation for both the electronic and traditional violin. It really makes no difference when it comes how you tune the strings or how you hold your violin. It also makes no difference how you hold your violin and bow. You have to learn exactly the same violin basics whether you intend playing the traditional violin or electronic violin.
Rather than allowing the learning of violin basics to hinder you should think of it as a means of allowing you to be the best musician you can. It really does make sense. If you know how to tune your violin, how to hold your violin and bow and how to stand it will free up your concentration. The basics will become second nature and you can concentrate on how you produce and express sound in a unique way. This is the dream of every serious musician.
